A hand says more than a thousand words
Non-verbal communication today is more diverse than ever and is used especially to convey attitudes and emotions. This can be found in a gesture between two conversation partners as well as in digitally optimized scenarios on advertising posters. The content conveyed is significantly underlined by conscious but also unconscious signals. An association cascade is triggered and our inner drawers open.
Yin & Yang
To express our bad mood, we know many gestures. From the clenched fist to the middle finger. But in every Yin we find a Yang and so we invert the whole pose to the last detail and get a powerful gesture to tell someone our affection.
One gesture, a hundred faces
As the world grows together, we are increasingly realising that clear a hand signals from our cultural background can represent a contrary meaning in another place. This can lead to unforeseen situations due to different views. What for one person is a powerful gesture to show affection to someone can be an obscene allusion to a very touching moment in the act of love by exploring the female anatomy with the hand.
Screen printing is a traditional technique where mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate. A squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the mesh with ink and with a reverse stroke to touch the substrate and causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh. One color is printed at a time, so several screens were used to produce this multicoloured image.
Every piece of art is authentic and handcrafted, hand-signed, dated and numbered by the artist. Quality materials are used to assure longevity and causing less impact on the environment to preserve the earth’s resources.
